Our commitment to biblical truth and historic Christian doctrine
Paris Bible Church is committed to the authority and sufficiency of Scripture. We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God and the final authority for all matters of faith and practice. The following statement of faith represents our understanding of what the Bible teaches on essential doctrines.
This statement is drawn from our church constitution and reflects our commitment to historic, biblical Christianity.
We believe the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God, the final authority for faith and life, inerrant in the original writings, infallible and God-breathed.
2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21
We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory.
Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who became man through the virgin birth, accomplished our redemption through His substitutionary death on the cross, rose bodily from the dead, and now serves as our High Priest and Advocate in heaven.
John 1:1-2, 14; Romans 3:24-25; 1 Peter 2:24
We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates believers, baptizes them into the body of Christ, and indwells and seals them unto the day of redemption.
John 16:8-11; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Ephesians 1:13-14
We believe man was created in God's image but fell in Adam's sin, inheriting a sinful nature and becoming totally depraved—utterly unable to remedy his lost condition apart from God's grace.
Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:22-23; Ephesians 2:1-3
We believe salvation is the gift of God, brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins.
Ephesians 2:8-10; John 1:12; 1 Peter 1:18-19
We believe all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God's power and are thus secure in Christ forever. Believers can rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through God's Word.
John 6:37-40; 10:27-30; Romans 8:1, 38-39
We believe the Church is the body and bride of Christ, made up of all born-again believers. We affirm the autonomy of the local church and practice the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper.
Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Matthew 28:19-20
We believe it is the obligation of the saved to witness by life and word to the truths of Scripture and to proclaim the Gospel to all mankind.
Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 5:19-20
We believe in the "Blessed Hope"—the personal, imminent, pre-tribulation and premillennial coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed ones, and His subsequent return to establish His Millennial Kingdom.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 19:11-16; 20:1-6
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people—the saved to eternal life with the Lord, and the unsaved to eternal conscious punishment in the Lake of Fire.
Matthew 25:46; John 5:28-29; Revelation 20:11-15
We believe all believers should live in a manner that honors Christ, maintaining separation from religious apostasy, worldly pleasures, and sinful associations as commanded by God.
Romans 12:1-2; 1 John 2:15-17; 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1
